Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Whisperer is built so that this policy can be short: the app collects nothing.
What happens to your voice
Audio is captured from your microphone and transcribed entirely on your Mac, using speech models that run locally on the Apple Neural Engine. Neither the audio nor the resulting text is ever transmitted anywhere. Whisperer has no servers.
Network access
The only network activity in the app is downloading the on-device speech models (and, if you explicitly enable AI Polish, its language model) from their public model repositories, once. Dictation itself works fully offline.
What is stored on your Mac
- Settings — your preferences, stored locally.
- History (optional) — your past transcripts, stored in a local database on your Mac. You control retention, can export, and can delete everything at any time. Text dictated near password fields is never inserted or stored.
- Models — the downloaded speech models, in your local Application Support folder.
Analytics, tracking, accounts
There are none. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no account, no sign-in.
